A roof leak can be caused by improper roof flashing around the chimney area or improperly laid shingles. While in the attic space, the inspector is also looking at the rafters to determine whether any visible mold growth is present. Using the protimeter and hydrometer, the inspector will observe the levels of humidity and measure the levels of moisture.
